1961 Rambler Classic 4dr.
I’ve had this car for about 20 yr. It’s fun to drive and gets a lot of attention.  It was parked indoors for the last 15yrs after I blew a head gasket.  The car has no rust.  The motor and head were rebuilt less than 6 months ago.  Straight 6 - 196. It has new tires, new fuel pump, new battery, new wheel cyls, new radiator hoses, new aftermarket temp gauge, new regulator, rebuilt generator, radiator was removed and boiled out, gas tank was removed and cleaned out. Carb was rebuilt. new battery cables, new fluids, new belt, new differential fluid and seal.  Motor does still have a few leaks.   The car is a 3 speed manual column shift.  Shifts good but the overdrive is not working.  I don't want to put any more time or money into the car so I haven’t checked out the overdrive to see what the problem is.  Plus I just cruise the car and you can drive it just fine up to 60-65mph.  Interior is in good shape. Its been there as long as I’ve had the car.  But since the car has always been stored inside it hasn't faded.  No tears, headliner is good, seats are in great shape, carpet is good.  One little piece of interior strip is coming loose in the back seat behind the door window.  Some paint chips/pealing on the dash.  Overall in pretty good shape.  The radio works, clock does not, heater hose are disconnected because the heater core has a small leak.  Fuel gauge does not work - sending unit in the tank needs to be replaced. Speedometer works.  Exterior of the car is in good shape. There is no rust on the car and the body is pretty straight. There are two small dents on the roof and small one on hood.  It was painted recently but its not a very good paint job.  The car looks great from a few feet away and looks great driving, but the paint has some orangepeal/spackle in places, a light spot in the paint and some scratches.  Located in CA. $6500 obo.  To return to the sales page click here.
