1965 Rambler Ambassador 990 SW.  Turquoise, 106,285 miles.  Has 327 / AT, PS, PDB, AC, tilt, dual head rests.  She is 95% original except for the carpet and partial exterior paint.  The carpet was replaced with NOS AMC carpet.  The car is a clean, dry, rust free California car.  I am the fourth owner, and Mabel has served me well for 5+ years.  I only used it to tow a vintage 1966 Driftwood travel trailer to shows and to drive to wineries on weekends.  Mabel gets a lot of attention because of the originality and turquoise color.  The exterior is mostly original.  I replaced the taillight lenses with a pair of NOS.  I have noticed that some parts of the body have been repainted, but most of the paint is original.  The front window windshield rubber seal will need to be replaced, and the windshield on the right side has a slight scratch from the wiper blade.  I replaced all door seals.  The engine is original and has had some work done on A/C, valves, heads, water pump, and radiator.  Recent service on Mabel includes front suspension, alignment, 4 new Coker white wall tires, new front disc brakes, new rear drum brakes, both brake drums and disc rotors has been resurfaced, new spark plugs, rebuilt Holley carburetor, new valve covers, new intake manifolds, new oil pain seal with fresh oil.  The engine purrs and runs very strong.  I have the invoices of the job done on the engine.  The rebuilt transmission shifts smoothly.  I installed air shocks and still have new OEM stock shocks.  I had the hitch installed with vintage electric brake for vintage travel trailer.  The interior is also all original except the carpet, which was replaced with NOS. The interior is remarkable and does show a sign of aging.  The headliner is original and shows some discolored spots.  It has a set of NOS matching color Rambler floor mats.  A modern radio has been installed in the glove compartment along with 6 CDs changer hidden in a storage box in the back of the car.  The original radio remains in the car.  The car is currently registered and I have the title. You will need to arrange for shipping.  I will have it parked and stored securely.  The rims that have been powder coated and come with 4 original hubcaps.  The car has been featured in several commercials by the previous owner and in a TV show with me as the current owner.  I bought the car for $16,000 and invested $8,150 to get her in a top running condition.  This is not a show car - it's a "survivor" car.  The car is a rust-free and Bondo-free, and almost like it came out of the factory.  The selling price is $16,000.  Call Sal at 805-296-7366 in CA.  To return to the sales page click here.
